Mary Health of the Sick and the Spring Luncheon Committee are pleased to announce the 21st Annual Spring Luncheon, Celebrating Mothers, to be held at the lovely Sherwood Country Club on Thursday, April 26, 2018. Our 2018 fundraising luncheon promises to be a high-quality, community-engaging and fun-filled event! The luncheon will kick-off with an exciting shopping experience with unique boutique vendors while enjoying complimentary champagne, high-quality silent auction and raffle baskets! Watch for your invitation in the mail soon! Luncheon tickets may also be purchased online, starting 02/05/2018. Proceeds from the luncheon support Mary Health’s mission of high quality, compassionate care given to our frail, elderly, sick and terminally ill residents.

Special Musical Performance

Mary Health of the Sick is delighted and honored to partner with the Channel Islands Choral Association (CICA) Chamber Singers for a special musical performance, conducted by Daniel Newman-Lessler, Assistant Conductor of CICA.

CICA is a 501 (c) (3) organization founded to promote vocal music education and performances in Ventura County. CICA is a co-sponsor of the California State University Channel Islands Choir. They encourage enrollment from students at the university and general public, and they manage choir activities, publicity, and fundraising. In partnership with California State University Channel Islands, CICA has helped move the choir beyond the classroom and into the community to make it a dynamic and diversified experience for all choir members. Dr. KuanFen Liu is the Founder, Artistic Director and Conductor of both CICA and Channel Islands Chamber Orchestra (CHICO).

CICA also sponsors the Pleasant Valley School District Chorus for students in grades 1-8 in Ventura County.  Daniel Newman-Lessler is the Music Director and Conductor and is assisted by Instructor Jonas Lee.

Royal Kona Resort Raffle

We are excited to once again offer a fabulous trip raffle for eight (8) days, seven (7) nights (airfare not included), including VIP Luau for two (2) at the Royal Kona Resort on the Big Island of Hawaii, donated by Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hogan and Hawaiian Hotel and Resorts. Raffle tickets go on sale, 02/26/2018.

RAFFLE RULES AND REGULATIONS

  1. This raffle is conducted by Mary Health of the Sick, located at 2929 Theresa Dr., Newbury Park, CA 91320. For any questions, the Development Office may be contacted at 805-498-6795 or development@maryhealth.com. Mary Health of the Sick is a non-profit organization under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3) and as defined by California Revenue and Taxation Code Section 23701d. All proceeds, less expenses, will benefit Mary Health’s operational needs.
  2. Price of raffle ticket: $25.00 per ticket or 5-tickets for $100.00
  3. Raffle sale starts: 02/26/2018
  4. Raffle sale ends:  04/26/2018
  5. A maximum number of 200 tickets will be sold. The odds of winning are dependent on the number of valid entries.
  6. Purchasers of tickets must legibly write their name, address, phone number and email (if applicable) on ticket.
  7. If more than one name is listed on the ticket, the first name listed shall be considered the “entrant.”
  8. Minors may not purchase or have their names identified as entrants for prizes of $600 or more. The Royal Kona Resort fair market value is $1,500.00.
  9. Payments shall be made in “good money” which may be cash, check or credit card. Checks should be made payable to, Mary Health of the Sick. If any purchaser’s check is dishonored by the bank, the raffle ticket will be declared invalid unless and until full payment in “good money” is made prior to the drawing. All purchases are final and no refunds will be issued.
  10. Winners will be picked by random drawing at the 21st Annual Spring Luncheon on Thursday, 04/26/2018.
  11. Winner need not be present to win. Winner will be contacted immediately after the drawing, if not present at the luncheon.
  12. If the winner cannot be reached at the phone number, email address or mailing address on the ticket stub for any reason by five (5) business days from the date of the spring luncheon, a disqualification will result and an alternate winner will be drawn.

  14. Winner must present the raffle ticket stub when claiming their prize.
  15. Winners acknowledge that Mary Health of the Sick, its agents and representatives have not made and neither are they in any manner responsible or liable for any warranty, representation or guarantee expressed or implied in fact or law, relative to any prize, including, but not limited to its quality, mechanical condition or fitness for a particular use.
  16. Employees and volunteers assisting with the spring luncheon are not eligible to purchase a ticket.
  17. Ticket purchase is not considered a donation
  18. Raffle Description: Royal Kona Resort, Kona, Hawaii Island
    1. 8-days and 7-nights, ocean view room, based on single/double occupancy, including VIP Luau for two (2) at the Royal Kona Resort on the Big Island of Hawaii
    2. Hotel package does not include:
      1. Airfare 
      2. Ground transportation
      3. Food and beverage and other miscellaneous expenses
      4. Travel must be completed by May 31, 2019
      5. No extensions can be given on the expiration of certificate
      6. Travel over holidays and other peak periods are restricted
      7. Travel is subject to availability and other restrictions may apply
      8. viii.Package is non-transferable and non-refundable and may not be sold
      9. Thirty-days (30) advance notice must be given to make reservation; alternate date in mind, should the first choice be unavailable as space is subject to availability and blackout dates as follows:
        1. 5/26 to 5/29/2018
        2. 7/03 to7/05/2018
        3. 9/01 to 9/03/2018
        4. 10/05 to 10/14/2018
        5. 10/30 to 10/31/2018
        6. 11/18 to 11/24/2018
