Built in 1964, Mary Health of the Sick was skillfully planned, solidly built and carefully maintained by the Servants of Mary, Ministers to the Sick. As with any structure, however, after 35 years of use, the building was showing its age. Additionally, fire and safety codes had changed and the building needed to be brought up to code.

In 1999, the "Angels Loving Arms Campaign" kicked off and, with the generous support of many friends, foundations, and businesses throughout Southern California, Mary Health of the Sick raised $5.7 million dollars.

In January, 2003, Mary Health embarked on a major renovation project of the hospital which was completed in February of 2007. This mechanically driven renovation brought the hospital into compliance with the new fire and safety codes, provided a new energy efficient HVAC system, and refurbished the interior of the hospital.

The end result is a beautifully decorated, modernized hospital in which the Sisters can continue their mission of providing care to the sick and elderly for many years to come.
